34 Agencies Comprise This Community
Network
Numerous community-based agencies make up our United Way network. All these health and human service agencies are non-profit charitable organizations run by a local volunteer Board of Directors.
A community safety net - many of the United Way agencies comprise our community's safety net for services. Often our community safety net is stretched very thin. Your dollars fund a variety of community programs including day care, job counseling, community education, emergency disaster relief, youth intervention and prevention programs and emergency food, shelter and clothing.
Where Do Your United Way Dollars Go?
As a donor to United Way your contribution is redistributed
to 34 human service agencies that provide a wide range of community
services to persons from birth to over 100. Your contribution is
an investment in people in our community. The return we all receive
is a stronger, healthier community.
One program is joining 33 other United Way agencies
for our 2010-2011 Campaign: YWCA applied and was accepted as a new
United Way agency this year.
